As if nature could not decide whether Rhodes should be flat our mountainous, the island features large planes with soft hills that are abruptly interrupted by steep mountains.

Plants

There are plants which like the dry climate, others only briefly blossom during the rainy spring and near temporary rivers.

Water

Buildings

Over the centuries many cultures occupied the island. Buildings can still be found from all epochs.

Monasteries

Rhodes is packed with monasteries. Only some are occupied by monks, but all seem to be frequently maintained.
